Activities

← Riddercamp

Riddercamp is, at its heart, about outdoor life, mastery and good company. By having a go at new activities and growing rather more comfortable with the ones we already know, we do make the impossible possible.

Each participant chooses up to three main activities during the week, guided by experienced instructors from local sports clubs, Myhre Farm and Beitostølen Healthsports Centre.

The activities

Peak hiking: Walks in the rather marvellous mountain landscape around Beitostølen. Short and cheerful, or longer and loftier. You choose your pace; the view is included either way.

Paddling: Kayaking and canoeing on calm, well-suited lakes. If you fancy learning to roll a kayak, our instructors are patient, dry and equipped with spare towels.

Horse riding: Rides with capable instructors and horses who have seen it all before. A fine way to cover ground and make a new four-legged friend.

A bit of everything: Bonfires, lawn games and a mix of smaller activities for those days when variety is the order of the afternoon.

The programme

Wednesday: Arrival and check-in, dinner, bonfire activities and a spot of balance practice in kayaks.

Thursday to Saturday: Shared breakfast, morning and afternoon sessions with your chosen activities (hiking, riding or paddling), time to cook together, and evening pastimes: bonfires, traditional lawn games and conversation well into the long summer light.

Sunday: A final breakfast, an honest evaluation, packing down and a warm farewell.

All activities take place in the mountain region around Beitostølen.
